IPDRG Coder
Job description
We are looking for an experienced IPDRG Medical Coder to review inpatient medical records and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes as per IPDRG guidelines. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring proper DRG assignment to support accurate billing and reimbursement.
Role & Responsibilities:
Review inpatient case sheets, discharge summaries, and clinical documentation- Assign accurate ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes
- Ensure correct IPDRG grouping and reimbursement classification
- Identify complications and comorbidities impacting DRG assignment
- Raise physician queries for incomplete or unclear documentation
- Maintain coding accuracy as per quality benchmarks (95%+)
- Support audit and compliance requirements
Preferred candidate profile:
Certification in Medical Coding (CCS / CIC )
Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding- Good understanding of IPDRG methodology
- Knowledge of anatomy & medical terminology
- Experience in inpatient coding
- Good communication and analytical skills
IPDRG QA
Required Skills: -
We are hiring an experienced Inpatient DRG Coder to accurately assign Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) codes to hospital inpatient records. Analyze clinical documentation, apply ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines.
The DRG Auditor is responsible for performing an in-depth review of select inpatient medical records to ensure that the assigned codes and DRG are supported by clinical documentation and all diagnoses and procedures are coded with the required specificity and the discharge disposition and the POA are correct Knowledge of IPPS methodology is required. Responsible for mentoring and training other coders. Provide ongoing feedback and education to coding staff and Clinical Documentation Specialists.
Preferred candidate profile
Skills and abilities:
- Auditing experience on IP DRG.
- Knowledge in Microsoft outlook/excel/word.
Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding- Good understanding of IPDRG methodology
- Knowledge of anatomy & medical terminology
- Experience in inpatient coding
- Good communication and analytical skills
Eligibility Criteria:
Speciality: IPDRG- Certified in AAPC/AHIMA: CPC, CIC, CCS, COC
- Exp: 5 to 10 Years (IPDRG)
