ABOUT THE ROLE
City FRESH is looking for a skilled, motivated, and reliable Accountant to join our growing team. We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on accounting experience, strong knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to manage daily financial operations with accuracy, responsibility, and attention to detail. Experience in FMCG, Fruits & Vegetables, Fresh Produce, Supermarket, Wholesale, Retail, Food Trading, or Distribution will be highly preferred. The ideal candidate should be proactive, well-organized, trustworthy, and flexible, with the ability to work in a fast-paced business environment and coordinate effectively with sales, warehouse, suppliers, customers, and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and all accounting entries accurately and on time.
- Maintain customer and supplier accounts, ledgers, statements, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
- Prepare and verify sales invoices, purchase invoices, credit notes, debit notes, receipts, and payment records.
- Handle accounting operations using Tally / Tally Prime and MS Excel.
- Perform daily and monthly cash, bank, sales, and purchase reconciliations.
- Monitor daily cash collections, customer outstanding payments, supplier balances, and settlements.
- Maintain accurate stock and inventory accounting records and reconcile physical stock with system records.
- Track purchase costs, sales values, business expenses, gross margins, and overall profitability.
- Handle GST and TDS accounting requirements, documentation, and support statutory compliance.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales, purchase, expense, outstanding, cash-flow, and financial reports for management.
- Coordinate with sales and warehouse teams regarding sales, stock movements, purchases, returns, wastage, and inventory reconciliation.
- Coordinate with customers and suppliers regarding invoices, payments, outstanding balances, settlements, and account statements.
- Identify accounting discrepancies, investigate differences, and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential financial records, invoices, receipts, payments, and supporting documents.
- Assist with monthly/year-end closing, audits, financial analysis, and other accounting requirements assigned by management

Fruits & Vegetables | Fresh Produce | FMCG | Wholesale | Retail | Supermarket
Preference will be given to candidates with hands-on accounting experience in fast-moving, high-volume trading or fresh produce businesses.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably in FMCG, Fruits & Vegetables, Wholesale, Retail, Supermarket, or Trading.
- Strong practical knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping, and daily accounting operations.
- B.Com, M.Com, Accounting, Finance, or a related qualification is preferred.
- Excellent working knowledge of Tally Prime and MS Excel is required.
- Good knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory accounting requirements.
- Strong experience in inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, and transaction verification.
- Ability to accurately handle high-volume daily sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and financial transactions.
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, customer accounts, and supplier accounts.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Fluent communication skills in Malayalam, English, and Hindi are required.
- Flexible and willing to work according to business requirements and deadlines.
- Must be responsible, hardworking, trustworthy, and professional in handling company financial information.
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
- Strong coordination skills with sales, warehouse, suppliers, customers, and management.
