We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Functional Tester to join our software development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for understanding business requirements, designing and executing test cases, identifying defects, and ensuring that our software applications deliver a reliable and seamless user experience.
The role will involve closely working with the Development, Product, Implementation, and Support teams to ensure that features and enhancements meet functional and business requirements before release.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand business and functional requirements and translate them into test scenarios and test cases.
- Prepare, execute, and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and test checklists.
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, and exploratory testing.
- Test new features, enhancements, workflows, forms, reports, and business processes.
- Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using appropriate defect-tracking tools.
- Clearly communicate bugs with proper steps to reproduce, expected results, actual results, screenshots, and supporting information.
- Perform retesting and regression testing after bugs are fixed.
- Validate end-to-end business workflows and ensure data consistency across different modules.
- Work closely with developers to understand issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Participate in requirement discussions and identify gaps, ambiguities, and potential functional issues at an early stage.
- Verify that software changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
- Maintain proper testing documentation and provide testing status and release feedback.
- Support the team during UAT, implementation, and production issue analysis, whenever required.
- Continuously improve testing processes, checklists, and quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Good understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong knowledge of functional testing concepts.
- Experience in writing clear and effective test cases.
- Good understanding of severity, priority, defect life cycle, regression testing, smoke testing, and sanity testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand complex business requirements and workflows.
- Good attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with developers, product teams, implementation teams, and clients.
Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per year
