Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.
Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
Maintain inventory levels based on future customer demands.
Address demand related queries & issues in a timely manner.
Interact with sales, marketing, and finance to understand demand forecast drivers.
Assist in risk assessment and mitigation activities.
Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
Use and maintain the Demand Planning file as the primary forecasting system tool.
Identify areas of improvements & recommend action plans.
Adhere to company rules & regulations.
Provide input in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning.
Provide advice and recommend buying strategies to minimize Sealed Air Corporation’s risk position, including:
Establishing market rates;
Providing purchasing-related advice to managers;
To link and optimize buying and selling strategies;
To minimize Sealed Air Corporations’ risk position with respect to critical raw materials/products/services.
Establishing and maintaining productive relationships with key suppliers, including:
Identifying the top 80% of supplier spend (both Direct and Indirect);
Qualifications
Proven track record in a MNC in general management, with direct material sourcing.
Must have 7+ years in direct materials sourcing area.
Experience in/of the Packaging materials industry
Able to work under pressure
Mature, goal orientated
APICS “Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)” or
APICS Certification in” Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)”
University Degree, MBA a plus but not a must
