Key Result Area:
Customs Clearance Efficiency
- Ensure timely import/export clearance with minimal delays while meeting operational TATs.
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain strict compliance with customs laws, DGFT regulations, and ensure accuracy of all clearance documentation.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise effectively with customs authorities, CHA partners, shipping lines, port/airport officials, customers, and internal teams.
Issue Resolution & Client Support
- Handle clearance challenges, escalations, detentions, and provide advisory support to customers on regulatory matters.
Team Performance & Reporting
- Supervise team productivity, maintain MIS/reporting dashboards, ensure SOP adherence, and drive process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end customs clearance for import/export shipments ensuring timely release
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, DGFT policies, and statutory requirements
- Review and verify shipping documents (BOE, Shipping Bills, invoices, packing lists, licenses)
- Coordinate with customs authorities, CHA teams, port/airport officials, and shipping lines
- Handle shipment escalations, detentions, inspections, and regulatory queries
- Advise customers and internal teams on customs procedures, duty structures, and compliance updates
- Monitor duty payments, HS classification, valuation, and exemption benefits
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with customers, vendors, and government agencies
- Supervise clearance team activities, productivity, and adherence to SOPs
- Prepare operational MIS reports, clearance TAT analysis, and performance dashboards
- Ensure audit readiness and proper documentation record management
- Drive process improvements for faster clearance and cost efficiency
Education/Experience
- Education : Any graduate/ Must hold a valid Customs Rule-6 certification or G/H Card license with hands-on experience in customs clearance operations.
- Experience : Minimum 3 plus years of experience in freight forwarding company from any Top Tier/Tier II Freight forwarding company
