Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager – Engineering to lead and manage procurement activities for raw materials, engineering components, machinery spares, consumables, and services required for manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for strategic sourcing, vendor development, cost optimization, inventory management, and ensuring uninterrupted material availability to support production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to ensure a continuous supply of raw materials, engineering components, and consumables.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best quality, pricing, and delivery terms.
- Manage procurement budgets and ensure purchasing activities align with company objectives and cost targets.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Production, Planning, and Stores teams to maintain optimum stock levels.
- Prepare and manage purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials to avoid production disruptions.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production departments to ensure purchased materials meet required specifications and standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and identify alternative sourcing opportunities.
- Conduct supplier evaluations, performance reviews, and vendor audits.
- Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain risks to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and negotiation.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the purchasing team to achieve departmental goals.
- Maintain procurement records, MIS reports, and documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for smooth material receipt and inventory management.

Requirements:
- B.E. / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in Purchase & Procurement within a Manufacturing or Engineering industry.
- Strong knowledge of technical procurement, sourcing, vendor development, and supply chain management.
- Ability to understand engineering drawings, technical specifications, and material requirements.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Experience in inventory planning and procurement budgeting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Skills:
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of inventory control and supply chain best practices.
- Experience in international sourcing and supplier management will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Just-In-Time (JIT) procurement practices.
Preferred Industry:
Engineering, Manufacturing, Plastic, Medical Devices, Automotive, Packaging, or Industrial Products.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
