The Accessories Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, and quality inspection of genuine vehicle accessories on new vehicles before customer delivery. The role ensures that all accessories are fitted according to manufacturer standards while maintaining vehicle quality, safety, and delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities ;
1. Accessory Installation
- Install genuine vehicle accessories as per manufacturer guidelines and dealership standards.
- Perform installation of:
- Reverse Parking Sensors
- Reverse Camera Systems
- Dash Cameras
- Seat Covers
- Floor Mats
- Door Visors
- Mud Flaps
- Body Side Mouldings
- Chrome Garnish Kits
- Roof Rails
- Side Steps
- Spoilers
- Fog Lamps
- Illuminated Door Sill Plates
- Infotainment & Audio Systems
- GPS Navigation Units
- Security Systems
- Alloy Wheels and Wheel Caps
- TPMS (where applicable)
2. Pre-Delivery Preparation
- Ensure all customer-ordered accessories are installed before vehicle delivery.
- Verify that accessory fitment matches the customer's booking order.
- Coordinate with the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) team to complete vehicles on schedule.
- Ensure vehicles are ready for customer handover within committed timelines.
3. Quality Assurance
- Inspect all installed accessories for proper fitment, alignment, appearance, and functionality.
- Perform functional testing of electrical and electronic accessories.
- Ensure vehicles are free from scratches, dents, stains, or installation-related damage.
- Rectify any defects before vehicle delivery.
4. Coordination
- Work closely with:
- Sales Consultants
- Accessories Sales Executive
- PDI Team
- Vehicle Logistics Team
- Spare Parts Department
5. Inventory & Material Handling
- Collect accessories from the accessories store as per the work order.
- Ensure correct usage of accessories and avoid material wastage.
- Report damaged, missing, or defective accessories immediately.
- Return unused materials according to dealership procedures.
6. Documentation
- Update job cards and accessory installation records accurately.
- Inform concerned departments about completion status and any issues affecting delivery.
- Confirm completion of accessory fitment before vehicle delivery.
7. Workplace Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow dealership safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area using 5S principles.
- Use tools, equipment, and PPE correctly.
- Ensure all tools are maintained in good working condition.
Required Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in automotive electrical systems is an added advantage.
Experience
- 0–2 years of experience in automobile accessory installation.
- Freshers with relevant technical qualifications may also apply.
Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹16,000.00 per month
