As we scale our operations across regions, we are looking for a creative, technically proficient, and client-savvy Design Executive to join our growing team.

Job Overview
The Design Executive is responsible for understanding client requirements for modular furniture, conducting accurate site measurements, preparing design estimations and costings, and ensuring smooth coordination between design, production, and installation teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Designing
- Develop new modular furniture concepts and product designs aligned with client requirements and market trends.
- Create innovative, practical, and aesthetically refined design solutions for residential and commercial projects.
- Support continuous improvement and enhancement of Homedge's product design offerings.
2. Technical Software — AutoCAD, SketchUp & Rendering
- Prepare detailed 2D production drawings and layouts using AutoCAD for all assigned projects.
- Develop accurate 3D models and visualisations using SketchUp to communicate design intent to clients and production teams.
- Create high-quality rendered visuals using rendering tools (Enscape / V-Ray / similar) for client presentations and approvals.
- Maintain drawing version control and ensure latest approved drawings are always on record.
3. Estimation & Costing
- Prepare accurate design-based cost estimates for modular furniture requirements across all assigned projects.
- Evaluate material requirements, hardware specifications, finishes, and accessories for cost calculation.
- Ensure estimation accuracy and consistency — minimising variance between estimated and actual project costs.
- Prepare BOQ for quantity validation and commercial alignment before client submission.
4. Site Measurement & Survey
- Visit client locations to conduct precise site measurements for modular furniture requirements.
- Record dimensions, site conditions, and constraints for accurate production and execution reference.
- Ensure measurement accuracy to eliminate production and installation deviations.
5. Design & Production Coordination
- Coordinate production and technical drawings with the design and production teams.
- Review drawings and identify technical inconsistencies or design discrepancies before production release.
- Support smooth conversion of approved designs into production-ready execution documentation.
6. On-Site Installation & Issue Resolution
- Coordinate with architects and site stakeholders during furniture installation phases.
- Visit project sites to resolve technical concerns, product doubts, and installation-related issues.
- Provide timely, practical support for execution challenges on-site.
7. Material Inspection
- Conduct technical inspection and sorting of modular furniture materials before production and installation.
- Verify quality standards and specification compliance at every stage.
- Report quality concerns and coordinate corrective action where required.
8. BOQ Preparation & Purchase Order Follow-up
- Preparation of Bill of Quantities post client confirmation.
- Preparation and processing of Purchase Orders for all assigned projects.
- Follow up on material procurement, vendor timelines, and production execution schedules.
9. Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with Sales Head, Purchase Manager, architects, and external agencies on technical and design matters.
- Provide regular client updates on material status, furniture production, and new product development.
- Ensure timely, professional resolution of client queries and concerns.
10. Revisions & Documentation
- Carry out design revisions based on client feedback and project requirements.
- Maintain technical documentation, version control, and design approval records.
- Evaluate manufacturing feasibility before final design sign-off.

Requirements
Education & Certification
- Bachelor's / Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or Space Design
- AutoCAD certification (mandatory); SketchUp & rendering tools (preferred)
Experience
- 2–5 years in interior design and production drawing
- Experience in modular furniture, fit-out, or turnkey interior company preferred
- Exposure to both client-facing design and production coordination preferred
Technical Skills
- AutoCAD — 2D production drawings and layouts (mandatory)
- SketchUp — 3D modelling and visualisation
- Enscape / V-Ray or equivalent — rendering for client presentations
- MS Excel / Google Sheets — estimation, costing, and BOQ preparation
Domain Knowledge
- Modular furniture systems, materials, hardware, laminates, and finishes
- Factory-ready production drawing preparation
- Site measurement, material inspection, and quality compliance
Soft Skills
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation discipline
- Confident in client-facing presentations and design discussions
- Self-driven; manages multiple projects simultaneously without supervision
- Deadline-conscious and execution-focused
