Job Summary:
The Music Teacher is responsible for developing students' musical skills, creativity, and appreciation for music through engaging classroom instruction, vocal and instrumental training, and participation in school events. The teacher fosters a positive learning environment that encourages students to explore and express themselves through music.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate music lessons aligned with the school's curriculum.
- Teach vocal music, basic instrumental music, rhythm, melody, harmony, and music theory.
- Develop students' singing, listening, and performance skills.
- Organize and conduct choir practices, music clubs, and rehearsals.
- Prepare students for school assemblies, annual functions, competitions, and cultural events.
- Identify and nurture students with exceptional musical talent.
- Encourage creativity, teamwork, confidence, and discipline through music activities.
- Maintain musical instruments and ensure they are used safely and responsibly.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, and assessments as required.
- Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain attendance, performance records, and other academic documentation.
- Collaborate with class teachers and coordinators to integrate music into school activities.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development programs, and school events.
- Ensure classroom discipline and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Promote appreciation for different musical styles, cultures, and traditions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Music / Performing Arts or a related field.
- Diploma or Certification in Vocal or Instrumental Music (preferred).
- B.Ed. is preferred for school teaching positions.
- Minimum 1–3 years of teaching experience in a recognized school (preferred).
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong vocal and/or instrumental proficiency.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students.
- Creativity in lesson planning and performance preparation.
- Knowledge of music notation and theory.
- Ability to organize school performances and cultural events.
- Basic computer skills for lesson planning and presentations.
Working Conditions:
- Regular school working hours.
- Participation in school events, rehearsals, annual functions, and competitions may require additional hours.
- Frequent interaction with students across different age groups.
Pay: ₹30,373.84 - ₹37,084.22 per month
Work Location: In person
