Executive Editor (City Reporting)
The Free Press Journal is seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Editor (City Reporting) to lead its Mumbai Reporting Section.
The ideal candidate will have extensive newsroom experience, strong editorial judgment, and an in-depth understanding of Mumbai's civic, political, social, and business landscape. The Executive Editor will oversee the city reporting team, drive impactful news coverage, and uphold the highest standards of journalistic excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the Mumbai city reporting team.
2. Plan, assign, and coordinate daily news coverage.
3. Guide reporters in developing exclusive and investigative stories.
4. Edit and review copy to ensure accuracy, balance, and editorial quality.
5. Monitor breaking news and ensure timely publication across print and digital platforms.
6. Maintain high editorial standards, ethical journalism, and factual accuracy.
7. Coordinate with the news desk and other editorial departments to deliver comprehensive coverage.
8. Mentor reporters and foster a culture of professional growth, collaboration, and accountability.
Qualifications
1. Significant experience in journalism, with prior newsroom leadership experience preferred.
2. Comprehensive knowledge of Mumbai's geography, civic administration, politics, business, and current affairs.
3. Excellent editing, writing, and communication skills with fluency in English.
4. Proven ability to manage tight deadlines in a fast-paced news environment.
5. Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹250,000.00 per month
