Job Description
Singla Engineering is looking for an experienced and technically proficient Design Engineer / Mechanical Draughtsman to join our engineering team.
We are manufacturers of Rice Mill Machinery, Paddy Processing Equipment and Material Handling Systems, along with undertaking various general fabrication and custom engineering works.
The selected candidate will be responsible not only for preparing machine designs and drawings but also for coordinating with the production team to ensure that machines and fabricated components are manufactured accurately as per the approved designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop rice mill machinery, fabricated equipment and mechanical components.
- Prepare accurate 3D models, assemblies and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Prepare and modify engineering and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD.
- Develop part drawings, assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, BOMs and material specifications.
- Prepare drawings suitable for laser cutting, bending, machining, welding and fabrication.
- Take measurements of existing machines/components and prepare or modify designs accordingly.
- Coordinate closely with the production, fabrication and assembly teams for execution of designs.
- Monitor manufacturing and assembly to ensure machines are produced according to drawings and specifications.
- Identify and resolve design and manufacturing issues on the shop floor.
- Modify and improve existing machine designs for better performance, manufacturability and cost efficiency.
- Develop designs for new machinery and custom fabrication requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation and revision control of engineering drawings.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks – 3D Modelling, Assemblies, Sheet Metal and 2D Drawings.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering drawings, tolerances, fits and manufacturing processes.
- Practical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, bending, welding and machining.
- Ability to convert concepts and requirements into practical, manufacturable designs.
- Ability to understand manufacturing problems and provide practical design solutions.
- Good coordination skills for working directly with production supervisors, fabricators and machine operators.
Preferred Candidate
Candidates having previous experience in any of the following industries will be preferred:
Rice Mill Machinery | Food Processing Machinery | Agricultural Machinery | Material Handling Equipment | Industrial Machinery | Sheet Metal Fabrication | Heavy/General Fabrication
The ideal candidate should be practical and production-oriented, with the ability to take responsibility for a machine from design and drawing stage through fabrication, assembly and final execution.
Qualification
Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical qualification
Candidates with strong practical design and fabrication experience will be given preference.
Experience
2–8 Years Preferred
Candidates with relevant machinery design and fabrication experience may be considered based on their technical capability.
