Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and responsible Laser Machine Operator to operate and monitor laser cutting machines used in the manufacturing of industrial machinery and components. The candidate will be responsible for accurate cutting, machine setup, material handling, quality inspection, and ensuring production targets are achieved while following safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Laser Cutting Machines for cutting MS, SS, and other sheet metal materials.
- Set up the laser machine according to job requirements, material thickness, and cutting parameters.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and job specifications.
- Load and unload sheets/materials safely and efficiently.
- Ensure accurate dimensions, cutting quality, and minimum material wastage.
- Monitor machine performance during operation and make necessary adjustments when required.
- Identify and report issues such as poor cutting quality, burrs, incorrect dimensions, nozzle problems, or machine alarms.
- Maintain proper records of production, material consumption, rejection, and machine downtime.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance as instructed.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of raw materials and finished components.
- Follow 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and workplace safety practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and discipline around the machine and production area.
- Coordinate with the Production, Quality, Design, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth production.
- Follow all company policies, SOPs, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Achieve daily production targets while maintaining required quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Fitter / Machinist or equivalent technical qualification.
- Experience: 0–5 years of experience as a Laser Machine Operator in a manufacturing, fabrication, or sheet-metal industry.
- Experience in operating Laser Cutting Machines will be preferred.
- Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and sheet-metal fabrication.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Good attention to detail and willingness to meet production targets.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience or fresher in industrial machinery manufacturing, packaging machinery, sheet-metal fabrication, CNC laser cutting, or machine component manufacturing will be preferred.
