We are seeking a passionate and skilled Commis Chef (Pastry) to join our culinary team in Mangalore. The ideal candidate will have a love for pastry arts, a creative approach to baking and dessert preparation, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and baking pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and other baked items
- Support the Pastry Chef in daily kitchen operations and recipe execution
- Ensure consistency, taste, and presentation in all pastry and dessert items
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene in the pastry kitchen
- Monitor stock levels of pastry ingredients and report needs to the senior chef
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations
- Assist with daily kitchen preparation, service, and closing procedures
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Commis Chef or in pastry/bakery preparation
- Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, and dessert preparation
- Strong attention to detail, creativity, and a willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with chocolate work, cake decoration, or bread making
- Knowledge of modern pastry trends and plating techniques
