Job Description:
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Oracle DBA with strong delivery, support, and team leadership capabilities to manage enterprise Oracle database environments. The candidate should have strong experience in the Banking/Financial Services domain, preferably handling managed banking clients and critical banking applications. The role involves database administration, project delivery, client coordination, and team management while ensuring high availability and performance of mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities :
- Advanced Troubleshooting & Incident Resolution: Lead the analysis and resolution of complex, real-time production issues, ensuring end-to-end problem resolution and conducting root cause analysis (RCA).
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Design, implement, and manage high-availability solutions such as Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) and Data Guard for disaster recovery and business continuity.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance, including sophisticated SQL tuning, schema optimization, and capacity planning initiatives to prevent degradation and ensure optimal system resource utilization.
- Installations, Upgrades, and Patching: Responsible for database lifecycle management, including installing, configuring, building, upgrading (e.g., 12c, 19c), and applying security patches to Oracle databases.
- Backup & Recovery Management: Develop and execute comprehensive backup and recovery strategies using tools like RMAN (Recovery Manager), Data Pump, and exp/imp, as well as performing DR drill activities.
- Architecture & Design Input: Provide architectural oversight and input for new implementations, focusing on scalability, security, and performance benchmarks.
- Install & Configure high availability architecture using Oracle RAC and Data Guard.
- Ensure database security, compliance, and access management aligned with enterprise standards.
- Automation & Scripting: Contribute to automation initiatives using scripting languages (like Shell/Bash) to streamline DBA tasks and environment management.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance to L1/L2/L3 teams, collaborating with application development teams, vendors (such as Oracle Support), and system administrators.
- Management of tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for proactive monitoring and ensuring compliance with security and audit requirements.
- Management of DR automation tool (Kyndryl RO) for execution of automated DR drills to achieve RTO.
- Management of DAM tool i.e. Oracle Audit Vault Database Firewall(AVDF) to monitor and record critical database activities as per RBI requirements.
- Leading the team of database administrators – Oracle & MS-SQL, Kyndryl & DAM administrators. Act as Project Manager / Delivery Lead for database-related initiatives and infrastructure projects.
- Ensure adherence to SLA, operational processes, and support commitments.
- Coordination with clients’ senior officials & internal teams on various projects, migrations, upgrades, cloning, issues etc
