About the Role
We are seeking a meticulous and principled Senior Accountant to establish and lead the accounting function for the LMD INDIA ENGINEERING PVT LTD Chennai . This is a foundational role for a seasoned professional who is passionate about building processes, ensuring absolute financial integrity, and safeguarding company assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete accounting cycle and will play a critical role in implementing stringent financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting & Financial Management:
- Oversee the complete accounting function for multiple group entities, including bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with Indian accounting standards.
- Manage direct and indirect taxation (GST, TDS, Income Tax) filings and ensure timely compliance.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors for the annual audit process.
- Internal Controls & Vigilance:
- Design, implement, and enforce robust internal financial controls and policies.
- Conduct regular audits of expenses, procurement, and payments to ensure policy adherence.
- Proactively investigate discrepancies, identify areas of financial risk, and take corrective action.
- Uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards financial malpractice, with a mandate to identify and report irregularities.
- Team Leadership & Process Building:
- Build and mentor a small, high-integrity accounting team as business needs grow.
- Establish standardized accounting procedures and workflows across the group.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all finance-related matters for group leadership.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
- Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or a Master's in Commerce (M.Com) with substantial experience.
- Experience: 7-12 years of progressive experience in accounting indirect taxation (GST, TDS, Income Tax) filings
- Assertiveness: The confidence to enforce policies and hold teams accountable for spending.
- Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Tally Prime or similar ERP software and advanced MS Excel.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Telugu/Hindi.
