Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Phlebotomist Trainer to lead and deliver training programs for new and existing phlebotomists and frontline healthcare workers. The trainer will be responsible for conducting hands-on skill-building sessions, ensuring adherence to safety and infection control protocols, and maintaining high standards of patient care and sample quality.
Trainers should speak and read Telugu and flexible to travel Vizag and Hyderabad.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and deliver structured phlebotomy training programs (classroom and practical) for new hires and in-service staff.
· Teach safe and effective venipuncture, capillary collection, and specimen handling techniques.
· Train staff on infection prevention and control (IPC) measures, biohazard safety, and PPE use.
· Conduct training on patient communication, identification verification, consent procedures, and handling difficult draws.
· Monitor and assess trainee performance through checklists, assessments, and competency evaluations.
· Update training materials in line with current guidelines (e.g., NABL, WHO, CDC) and emerging best practices.
· Provide refresher training sessions and remedial coaching when needed.
· Ensure all training documentation is completed and filed, including attendance records, evaluation forms, and certification.
· Collaborate with lab managers and quality teams to identify skill gaps and training needs.
· Maintain inventory and care of training supplies (e.g., mannequins, needles, vacutainers).
Qualifications & Skills:
Essential: - Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
- Certification in Phlebotomy or Laboratory Services from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on phlebotomy experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in training, mentoring, or supervision preferred.
- Strong knowledge of biosafety protocols, sample transport procedures, and cold chain management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Fluency in [English, Hindi and Local Language].
Preferred: - Experience in rural or low-resource health settings.
- Exposure to training frontline workers or community health personnel.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and training methodologies.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
· Number of phlebotomists successfully trained and certified.
· Competency scores and skill assessment outcomes of trainees.
· Reduction in sample rejection rates due to collection errors.
· Improvement in infection control compliance post-training.
· Trainee feedback scores and course satisfaction.
Work Environment:
· Training center, clinics, and field settings.
· May involve travel to satellite eClinics or rural health centers.
· Flexible working hours may be required for batch-based training.
