The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, industry standards, and organizational objectives. The role focuses on ensuring safe working conditions, minimizing environmental impact, and fostering a strong culture of safety across interior fit-out projects. The incumbent will be responsible for managing EHS compliance, overseeing project safety activities, and maintaining complete statutory and client-required documentation.
Key Responsibilities: EHS Policy Development and Compliance
- Develop, implement, and update EHS policies, procedures, and manuals in alignment with local regulations and company standards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, environmental, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and inspections of project sites to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Safety Management
- Monitor and enforce adherence to safety protocols during all stages of the interior fit-out process, including demolition, construction, and installation.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness.
Training and Awareness
- Conduct EHS training sessions for employees, contractors, and subcontractors to promote a safety-first culture.
- Provide toolbox talks and safety briefings tailored to fit-out activities.
- Keep the workforce informed about updates in EHS regulations and company policies.
Environmental Management
- Identify and manage environmental risks, such as waste disposal, noise, and dust control, specific to interior fit-out projects.
- Develop waste management and recycling programs to minimize environmental impact.
- Monitor and report on environmental performance metrics.
Coordination and Reporting
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and contractors to integrate EHS requirements into project plans.
- Maintain records of EHS activities, including incident reports, training logs, and inspection results.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on EHS performance and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) from MSBTE board (Mandatory)
- Certification in EHS standards (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) is highly desirable.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in EHS management, preferably in the interior fit-out or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of local EHS regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
