Position Title: General Manager – Resort Operations
Location: Jungle Resort, Papum Pare, Arunachal Pradesh
Reports To: Managing Director
Position Summary
The General Manager (GM) will be responsible for the overall management and profitability of the resort, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maintaining operational excellence. The role includes leadership of all departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, Security, Adventure Activities, Sales & Marketing, and Finance. The GM will drive occupancy, revenue growth, guest satisfaction, and employee engagement while preserving the resort's eco-tourism and nature-based identity.
Key Responsibilities1. Resort Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations of rooms, reception, housekeeping, F&B, maintenance, and guest services.
- Ensure smooth coordination among all departments.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and service quality.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
2. Guest Experience & Hospitality
- Ensure outstanding guest satisfaction and memorable experiences.
- Personally handle VIP guests, corporate groups, and special events.
- Monitor guest reviews and implement corrective actions.
- Resolve guest complaints promptly and professionally.
3. Revenue & Financial Management
- Prepare annual budgets and operating plans.
- Monitor occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and overall profitability.
- Control costs while maintaining service standards.
- Develop revenue-generating initiatives including adventure tourism, events, conferences, and destination weddings.
4. Sales & Marketing
- Build relationships with travel agents, tour operators, corporates, and government departments.
- Promote the resort through digital marketing and tourism platforms.
- Increase resort visibility through local partnerships and promotional campaigns.
- Drive room sales, banquet bookings, and tourism packages.
5. Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate staff performance.
- Foster a positive and guest-focused work culture.
- Conduct regular departmental meetings and training programs.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and labor regulations.
6. Property Maintenance & Safety
- Ensure proper upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and resort facilities.
- Maintain safety, fire, and environmental compliance standards.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure sustainable and eco-friendly resort operations.
7. Government & Community Relations
- Liaise with local authorities, tourism departments, and regulatory bodies.
- Build positive relationships with local communities.
- Ensure all licenses, permits, and statutory compliances are maintained.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Graduate in Hotel Management / Hospitality Management / Tourism.
- MBA preferred.
- 5 -10 years of hospitality experience with at least 5 years in a Resort General Manager role.
- Experience in remote destinations, eco-resorts, wildlife resorts, or luxury resorts preferred.
- Strong leadership, financial management, and operational skills.
- Excellent communication and guest relationship management abilities.
