Job Title: Estimation Engineer – PEB Structure and Civil Buildings Department: Sales / Estimation Location: Chennai Experience: 3–6+Years (PEB / Structural Steel Industry Preferred)
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Estimation Engineer for PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) projectsalong with civil projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing techno-commercial quotations, BOQs, cost estimations, and tender submissions based on client requirements and structural drawings.
Key Responsibilities
Estimation & Costing
Study RFQs, tender documents, GA drawings, and technical specifications.
Prepare accurate material take-offs for:
o Primary steel
o Secondary members
o Roofing & cladding
o Accessories and miscellaneous items
Calculate project costing and prepare detailed estimates.
Coordinate with design and procurement teams for optimized costing.
Quotation Preparation
Prepare techno-commercial quotations for customers.
Generate BOQ, pricing sheets, and proposal documents.
Compare vendor quotations and finalize costing inputs.
Ensure quotations meet customer specifications and company margins.
Technical Coordination
Coordinate with structural designers and detailing teams.
Clarify technical queries with clients and consultants.
Support sales team during project discussions and negotiations.
Tender & Documentation
Prepare tender submissions and bid documents.
Maintain estimation records and project costing database.
Review contract terms and project scope before order confirmation.
Software & Reporting
Use estimation and drafting software efficiently.
Prepare MIS reports related to inquiries, quotations, and order status.
Required Skills
Knowledge of PEB structures and steel building systems.
Understanding of structural steel quantities and fabrication processes.
Strong costing and analytical skills.
Ability to read structural and architectural drawings.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Commercial awareness and negotiation support capability.
Software Knowledge
Preferred knowledge in:
AutoCAD
STAAD / Tekla (basic understanding preferred)
MS Excel (advanced)
ERP / Estimation software
Qualification
Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in PEB, structural steel, or roofing industry preferred.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Experience in PEB/Civil estimation and quotation preparation.
Familiar with Indian standards and steel building practices.
Able to handle multiple inquiries and deadlines efficiently.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
