About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Data Procurement Specialist to source, acquire, and manage high-quality datasets for AI model training and development. The ideal candidate will identify data sources, communicate with vendors and contributors, and ensure datasets meet quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify reliable data sources for AI and machine learning projects.
- Procure datasets through online platforms, vendors, public sources, and partnerships.
- Coordinate with data providers and negotiate pricing and licensing terms.
- Maintain and update datasets based on project requirements.
- Verify data quality, accuracy, and completeness before delivery.
- Organize and document acquired datasets.
- Collaborate with AI, Data Operations, and Product teams to understand data requirements.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, licensing, and company policies.
- Track procurement activities and maintain procurement records.
Required Skills
- Excellent internet research and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Good understanding of Excel/Google Sheets.
- Ability to evaluate data quality and organize large datasets.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with AI, Machine Learning, or data annotation is a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- 0–2 years of experience in Data Procurement, Data Operations, Research, or a similar role.
- Freshers with strong research skills are encouraged to apply.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with data sourcing platforms.
- Basic understanding of AI/ML datasets.
- Knowledge of data licensing and compliance is an advantage.
