Job Description / Responsibilities:
Will be responsible for supervising the design operations of the company encompassing total supervision and hands-on involvement in the following functions:
- Work scheduling for design team
- Standardization of designs/drawings
- Hands-on design work as team head and key 3D designer
- Issue and approval of production drawings, and maintenance of revision records
- Implementation of SOPs
- Reviewing and implementing production drawing formats and numbering schema
- Periodical plant visits to review design issues related to production
- Ensuring application of ISO/ANSI drawing standards
In addition to handling key design tasks himself, he will be responsible for supervising the overall design function of the company and scheduling/assigning design work as per delivery timelines.
Desired profile of the candidate:
He must have worked in a team lead role for at least 2 years and must have contributed to design standardization at his present job.
He must be a seasoned mechanical with hands-on experience in using SolidWorks and handling design tasks including but not limited to design calculations by hand and/or Excel, selecting materials for machine parts/assemblies, selecting of drives, bearings, hydraulics and pneumatics to serve the function, supervising a design team for preparation of all other necessary 3D models and drawings, using SolidWorks to complete 3D designs and 2D drawings as per approved guidelines, drafting plans, schedules, reports, etc., to meet design tasks leading to issuance of production drawings and plant layout drawings.
Must be experienced using the following SolidWorks tools: Weldments, and Design Tables, and must be able to automate standard design tasks for swift generation of working drawings.
Must be well experienced in the development, approval/control and issue of part, assembly, production and layout drawings, and implementation of SOPs.
Must be well versed in applying fits & tolerances, surface roughness, material selection, design optimization based on market steel/bought-out-items availability and usage & creation of standard CAD libraries for the organization.
Must be a person capable of planning all functional activities related to the job function and to ensure that manpower utilization is optimum, and must have a very good level of communication skills and should be pleasant to work under so that inter-employee communication are swift and effective, and must be a good team leader.
Must know how to effectively use email and the Internet as needed. Will be responsible to coordinate with IT admin to ensure all software and hardware is in updated condition.
Must have hands-on experience in designing material handling equipment and heavy machines and must be from the heavy machinery manufacturing industry.
Notice Period: Preferably 30 days, maximum 60 days
Required Skill Set:
Mandatory-
- Must have at least 4 years’ experience in using SolidWorks 2019 or above
- Must have minimum 3 to 4 years of work experience in the same field
Compensation range & other Benefits depends upon experience and work attitude.
Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹85,000.00 per month
