Position: Purchase Engineer

Experience: 4–5 Years
Qualification:
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Diploma in Civil/Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience may also be considered.
Job Summary:
The Purchase Engineer will be responsible for sourcing, procuring, and coordinating the timely supply of construction materials, equipment, and services required for project execution. The role involves vendor management, price negotiation, procurement planning, BOQ analysis, cost optimization, and coordination with project sites to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Procure construction materials, equipment, and services as per project requirements and approved BOQs.
- Develop and maintain a reliable vendor database and identify new suppliers.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from multiple vendors.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts to achieve cost savings.
- Prepare comparative statements (CS) and recommend suitable vendors.
- Generate Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely procurement and delivery.
- Coordinate with project/site engineers to understand material requirements and delivery schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimum stock availability.
- Verify material specifications, quality standards, and compliance before procurement.
- Follow up with suppliers regarding deliveries, pending orders, and issue resolution.
- Maintain procurement records, purchase documentation, and MIS reports.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and budget guidelines.
- Coordinate with Accounts for invoice verification and vendor payment processing.
- Support project teams by ensuring uninterrupted material availability for site execution.
- Monitor market trends, material prices, and identify cost-effective sourcing opportunities.
