Position Description
Role: Cloud Security Automation Engineer
Role Overview
. We are seeking a Cloud Security Engineer with a strong focus on security automation to enhance and scale security across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments
. This role emphasizes building automated, proactive security solutions while supporting cloud security operations and DevSecOps practices
. The ideal candidate will reduce manual effort by engineering automation-first security workflows for detection, response, and compliance
Key Responsibilities
Security Automation (Primary)
. Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for security operations
. Automate vulnerability reporting KPI's, PI's , patching, and compliance checks
. Build automated detection and remediation workflows across cloud environments
. Identify manual security processes and drive automation initiatives end-to-end
DevSecOps
. Integrate automated security controls into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
. Partner with DevOps teams to enforce secure and automated deployment practices
Cloud Security Engineering
. Implement secure IAM policies, roles, and least-privilege access
. Manage encryption, secrets, and key management solutions
. Configure cloud-native security tools (e.g., AWS Security Hub, Azure Defender)
. Secure containers, Kubernetes, and virtual machines
Cloud Security Operations
. Monitor cloud environments for threats, vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations
. Investigate and respond to security incidents and alerts
. Perform log analysis and threat detection
. Maintain and improve cloud security controls
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical
. Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
. Strong scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
. Solid understanding of networking (VPCs, firewalls, DNS)
. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes security
. Exposure to SIEM, SOAR, or EDR tools
Security
. Knowledge of IAM and least privilege principles
. Experience in incident response and threat detection
. Understanding of vulnerability management
. Familiarity with encryption and key management
Behavioural Competencies :
Proven experience of delivering process efficiencies and improvements
Clear and fluent English (both verbal and written)
Ability to build and maintain efficient working relationships with remote teams
Demonstrate ability to take ownership of and accountability for relevant products and services
Ability to plan, prioritize and complete your own work, whilst remaining a team player
Willingness to engage with and work in other technologies
