Finance & Accounts Manager – Roles & Responsibilities
1. Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with IND AS / GAAP / IFRS (as applicable)
- Monitor financial performance vs. budget and provide variance analysis
- Manage cash flow forecasting, fund flow, and working capital
- Support management with financial insights for decision-making
2. Cost Accounting & Cost Control (CMA Focus)
- Develop and maintain costing systems and procedures
- Conduct product costing, process costing, and job costing
- Analyze cost variances and suggest cost reduction strategies
- Monitor budgetary control and standard costing
- Improve operational efficiency through cost optimization initiatives
3. Accounting Operations
- Oversee:
- General Ledger
- Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Bank Reconciliation
- Ensure timely recording of all financial transactions
- Maintain accurate accounting records and audit trails
- Supervise accounting team and internal controls
4. Taxation & Compliance (CA Expertise)
- Ensure compliance with:
- Income Tax
- GST (Returns, reconciliation, audits)
- TDS/TCS
- Other statutory laws
- Coordinate tax planning and optimization
- Liaise with auditors and tax authorities
- Handle assessments, notices, and litigation (if any)
5. Audit & Internal Controls
- Coordinate and manage:
- Statutory Audit
- Internal Audit
- Cost Audit (if applicable)
- Implement strong internal control systems
- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation measures
- Ensure documentation for audit readiness
6. Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting
- Monitor departmental budgets
- Provide long-term financial planning strategies
- Support strategic business initiatives with financial modeling
7. Treasury & Fund Management
- Manage banking relationships and facilities
- Handle:
- Loans & borrowings
- LC / BG
- Investment decisions
- Optimize interest costs and fund utilization
8. Stakeholder & Business Support
- Work closely with:
- Management
- Operations team
- HR & Procurement
- Provide financial inputs for pricing, contracts, and negotiations
- Support business scaling and new project feasibility
9. Systems & Process Improvement
- Implement and manage ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Odoo, Tally)
- Automate financial processes
- Improve reporting efficiency and accuracy
10. Team Management
- Lead and mentor accounting staff
- Define KPIs and performance metrics
- Ensure skill development and compliance awareness
