A Jewellery and Stone Inventory Controller ensures the accurate, secure, and efficient management of all jewellery materials — from raw gemstones and diamonds to finished products — across production, storage, and retail operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records for raw materials, diamonds, gemstones, mountings, components, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished jewellery.
- Receiving & Verification: Receive, unpack, and verify all incoming shipments of jewellery and stones against purchase orders and invoices; check for quality, quantity, and specification accuracy.
- Quality Control: Inspect new and returned items for defects or deviations; document and resolve issues before stock acceptance.
- Stock Control & Audits: Conduct regular cycle counts, annual physical inventories, and reconciliations to identify and correct discrepancies.
- Inventory Movement: Track and document all movements — production stages (casting, setting, polishing, plating, QC, packaging), inter-store transfers, shipments, and returns.
- Data Management: Update ERP/inventory systems with real-time accuracy; prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on stock, production, and variances.
- Security & Storage: Ensure secure handling, documentation, and storage of high-value items; maintain organized, accessible storage areas.
- Process Improvement: Identify process gaps, recommend improvements, and implement SOPs for inventory movement and control.
- Coordination: Work with design, manufacturing, QC, sales, accounts, merchandising, logistics, and retail teams to ensure timely material availability
