Job Summary
SAMMS TECH SPM & AUTOMATION is looking for a Structure Welding Fitter to perform fabrication, fitting, and welding of machine structures, frames, and assemblies for Special Purpose Machines (SPM) and Industrial Automation projects. The candidate should have hands-on experience in structural fabrication, welding, and reading engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble machine structures, base frames, and support assemblies.
- Perform welding operations using MIG, TIG, Arc, and CO₂ welding processes.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, structural layouts, and engineering specifications.
- Carry out cutting, grinding, drilling, marking, and fitting activities.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and alignment of fabricated structures.
- Inspect welded joints and rectify defects if required.
- Assist in machine assembly and installation activities.
- Handle fabrication tools, welding equipment, and measuring instruments.
- Maintain workplace safety and follow company quality standards.
- Coordinate with production and assembly teams for project completion.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of structural fabrication and welding techniques.
- Ability to read fabrication and mechanical drawings.
- Experience in MIG, TIG, Arc, and CO₂ welding.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Measuring Tape, and Spirit Level.
- Good understanding of welding symbols and fabrication standards.
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Qualification
- ITI Fitter / Welder / Fabricator
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred)
