The Hotel Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment throughout the hotel. The role ensures the safe and uninterrupted operation of electrical installations, guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, offices, and back-of-house facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical faults, wiring, lighting systems, and power distribution panels.
- Maintain and repair:
- Electrical wiring and circuits
- Lighting fixtures and controls
- Distribution boards and switchgear
- Generators and backup power systems
- Motors, pumps, and control panels
- Guest room electrical fittings and appliances
- Monitor electrical consumption and support energy-saving initiatives.
- Attend guest and departmental maintenance requests promptly.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential electrical hazards.
- Assist in testing emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, and emergency power equipment.
- Maintain maintenance logs, reports, and equipment records.
- Coordinate with other engineering and maintenance team members.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and hotel standards.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of generators, motors, control circuits, and electrical panels.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and electrical codes.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Educational Qualifications
- ITI Electrician Trade Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Valid electrical license/certification (where required by local regulations).
Experience
- Typically 1–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance.
- Experience in hotels, commercial buildings, hospitals, or industrial facilities is preferred.
Working Conditions
- Shift duties, including weekends and public holidays.
- Availability for emergency breakdown response.
- Work may involve heights, confined spaces, and handling electrical equipment.
Pay: ₹11,000.00 - ₹13,000.00 per month
