Key Responsibilities
- Recipe & Menu Development: Create and test new recipes, develop seasonal dessert menus, and ensure every dish meets flavor and presentation standards. [1, 2]
- Baking & Decorating: Prepare a wide variety of baked goods (e.g., pastries, tarts, artisan breads, and chocolates) while applying advanced techniques like glazing, piping, and sugar work. [1, 2]
- Inventory & Ordering: Monitor ingredient levels (e.g., flour, sugar, chocolate) and manage supply orders while staying within a set budget. [1, 2]
- Staff Leadership: Supervise, train, and guide junior pastry cooks, bakers, and kitchen assistants. [1, 2]
- Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a clean, organized workstation and ensure full compliance with strict food hygiene and health regulations. [1, 2]
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Culinary Expertise: In-depth knowledge of various baking techniques, pastry doughs, and flavor profiles.
- Creativity & Artistry: A keen eye for detail and design to create visually exciting, Instagram-worthy plating and cake decoration.
- Organization & Time Management: Ability to multitask and work swiftly under pressure to meet strict food service deadlines.
- Education: A diploma in culinary arts, baking, or pastry-making is typically required
