Job Summary/Main Purpose
The Senior Manager – Mechanical is responsible for overseeing the mechanical design, development, and maintenance of transformers and related components. The role involves ensuring compliance with industry standards, optimizing manufacturing processes, and leading a team of engineers to enhance product performance and reliability. The incumbent will work closely with production, quality, and R&D teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation in mechanical engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities & Key Result Areas
- Mechanical Design & Development: Lead the mechanical design and development of transformer components, ensuring structural integrity and efficiency.
- Manufacturing Process Optimization: Implement best practices to enhance manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Material Selection & Standardization: Identify and standardize materials that enhance transformer performance and longevity.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all mechanical designs meet regulatory and industry standards (IEC, IEEE, etc.).
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, providing guidance and technical expertise to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Supplier & Vendor Management: Coordinate with suppliers for procurement of mechanical components and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Failure Analysis & Troubleshooting: Investigate mechanical failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Project Management: Oversee mechanical engineering projects from concept to implementation, ensuring timely execution and budget compliance.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with electrical, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components.
- Research & Innovation: Stay updated on the latest mechanical engineering advancements and implement innovative solutions in transformer design.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the transformer manufacturing or power industry.
- Hands-on experience in mechanical design, material selection, and manufacturing optimization.
- Knowledge of industry standards and compliance regulations for transformer manufacturing.
- Experience in managing large-scale engineering projects and leading technical teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
