Position Overview
We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, test, and improve Tesseract's CPQ, Pricepoint, and enterprise workflow applications. This role is for an engineer who enjoys solving practical product problems, writing maintainable code, and collaborating closely with product, design, quality, and implementation teams. The ideal candidate brings strong development fundamentals, curiosity, and a commitment to reliable customer-facing software.
Key Responsibilities1. People & Team Leadership
The Software Engineer will contribute to a healthy engineering team by sharing knowledge, participating in code reviews, asking clear questions, and supporting peers. They will take ownership of assigned work, help teammates understand implementation details, and contribute to practical discussions about design, quality, and delivery. As they grow, they will mentor newer engineers and help improve team habits.
2. Execution & Delivery
The Software Engineer will deliver assigned work with discipline and transparency. They will clarify requirements, break down implementation tasks, write and test code, participate in reviews, address defects, and communicate progress or risks early. The role requires balancing speed with quality, making reasonable implementation decisions, and supporting releases in a way that protects customer workflows.
3. Technical & Product Understanding
The Software Engineer must apply sound development practices across frontend, backend, data, and integration work as needed. They will write maintainable code, design clear interfaces, create automated tests, troubleshoot production and implementation issues, and improve existing systems when appropriate. The role requires awareness of security, performance, scalability, accessibility, observability, and maintainability.
4. Communication & Collaboration
The Software Engineer will communicate clearly with engineers, product managers, designers, quality engineers, and services teams. They will explain implementation choices, raise blockers, document useful context, and translate technical details into language that helps the broader team make decisions. The role requires active collaboration, openness to feedback, and concise stakeholder communication.
Experience and Qualifications
Qualified candidates should have at least three years of professional software engineering experience building production software. They should be comfortable with modern development practices, source control, code review, automated testing, APIs, databases, and release workflows. Experience with SaaS products, CPQ, pricing, enterprise workflow applications, integrations, or customer-facing business software is highly valuable.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Sholinganallur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu
