Job Summary
The Sr. Engineer – Production is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising manufacturing operations to achieve production targets while ensuring product quality, process efficiency, safety, and optimum utilization of resources. The role involves managing production activities related to welding consumables, including electrode manufacturing processes, manpower supervision, process improvement, and continuous productivity enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Execution
- Execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans as per business requirements.
- Monitor production schedules to ensure timely completion of manufacturing orders.
- Optimize machine utilization and production capacity.
- Ensure adherence to production targets, quality standards, and delivery commitments.
Process Control & Manufacturing
- Supervise manufacturing processes including:
- Raw material preparation and mixing
- Core wire handling
- Electrode coating operations
- Drying and baking processes
- Finishing, packing, and dispatch readiness
- Monitor critical process parameters and implement corrective actions when required.
- Ensure compliance with established SOPs and work instructions.
Quality Assurance
- Coordinate with Quality Control and R&D teams to maintain product quality standards.
- Analyze production defects, rejections, and customer complaints.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce process deviations and rejection rates.
- Ensure compliance with ISO and quality management systems.
Team Management
- Supervise production operators, technicians, and shift personnel.
- Allocate manpower effectively to achieve production objectives.
- Conduct training programs for operators on safety, quality, and process improvements.
- Monitor workforce discipline and performance.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for productivity improvement, cost reduction, and waste minimization.
- Lead Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and TPM initiatives.
- Drive process optimization projects to improve efficiency and product consistency.
- Participate in automation and plant improvement projects.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure proper use of PPE.
- Support statutory and regulatory compliance requirements.
Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate with the maintenance department for preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Minimize production downtime through effective planning and coordination.
- Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily production reports, shift reports, and MIS data.
- Analyze production performance metrics such as productivity, OEE, rejection rate, and downtime.
- Maintain production records and process documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Additional certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or Quality Systems will be an advantage.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
- Preferably from Welding Consumables, Electrodes, Flux-Cored Wire, Steel, Metallurgical, Engineering, or Process Industries.
- Experience in managing shop-floor production and manpower.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
