Job Summary
The Production Supervisor – Press Shop will be responsible for planning, supervising and controlling daily press shop operations to achieve production targets while ensuring Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Productivity (SQCDP). The candidate should possess strong knowledge of Mechanical Power Presses, Progressive Dies, Transfer Dies, Line Balancing, Productivity Improvement and Shop Floor Management.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Execution
- Achieve daily production targets as per production plan.
- Monitor shift-wise production performance and machine utilization.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines and tooling.
- Minimize machine idle time and production losses.
- Conduct shift handover and daily production review meetings.
Press Shop Operations
- Supervise production on Mechanical Power Presses (60T–1000T).
- Ensure proper die setting and first-off approval before production.
- Monitor production against standard cycle time.
- Verify die change activities and reduce die change time (SMED).
- Ensure correct lubrication practices for dies and machines.
- Monitor feeder, straightener, decoiler and coil handling systems.
- Coordinate with Die Maintenance and Tool Room for tooling readiness.
Quality Management
- Ensure production as per Control Plan, SOPs and Work Instructions.
- Ensure first-piece approval before mass production.
- Control in-process rejection, rework and scrap.
- Support Root Cause Analysis using 8D, 5 Why and Fishbone.
- Ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with Quality for process audits and customer requirements.
Productivity & Continuous Improvement
- Improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
- Reduce cycle time and setup time.
- Implement Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and SMED initiatives.
- Improve machine utilization and production efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce cost and increase productivity.
Tool & Die Coordination
- Coordinate with Tool Room for preventive maintenance of dies.
- Monitor die condition and report abnormalities.
- Ensure timely die replacement and maintenance.
- Verify die availability before production planning.
Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Report abnormalities in presses, feeders, pneumatic systems and lubrication systems.
- Minimize machine downtime through effective coordination.
Manpower Management
- Allocate manpower based on production planning.
- Lead, motivate and monitor operators.
- Conduct skill development and on-the-job training.
- Ensure discipline and adherence to company policies.
Safety & 5S
- Ensure safe operation of Mechanical Power Presses.
- Ensure compliance with safety guards, interlocks and PPE requirements.
- Conduct daily safety checks before machine startup.
- Maintain 5S standards across the press shop.
- Report unsafe conditions and near-miss incidents.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in Automotive OEM / Tier-1 / Tier-2 Sheet Metal Manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with Mechanical Power Presses, Progressive & Transfer Dies.
- Strong leadership, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in handling 30–100 shop-floor operators.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts.
- Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
Immediate joiners or candidates serving a short notice period will be given preference.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
