Role Summary
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving sales, revenue, and business growth for the assigned branch. The role leads the branch sales team, ensures achievement of business targets, supports technical sales discussions, develops team capabilities through training, and coordinates with support functions such as Design, Liaisoning, Loan, Accounts, and Installation to ensure smooth project execution and an excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the complete sales function of the assigned branch.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales, revenue, and installation targets.
- Set individual targets for Sales Managers, Team Leaders, and Sales Executives and monitor their performance.
- Develop and implement branch-level sales strategies to increase market share and business growth.
- Monitor the complete sales pipeline and ensure timely movement of leads through all stages of the sales process.
- Review daily sales reports, CRM updates, lead status, conversion ratios, and team productivity.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly review meetings with the sales team.
- Provide regular training, coaching, and mentoring to sales employees on sales processes, products, objection handling, negotiation skills, CRM usage, and customer management.
- Identify training needs and improve the technical and commercial capabilities of the sales team.
- Provide technical sales support by explaining solar system concepts, project scope, commercial proposals, subsidies, financing options, and customer queries.
- Review quotations, pricing structures, and special discount requests before approval.
- Coordinate with the Marketing team to ensure a continuous flow of quality leads.
- Work closely with the Design Department to ensure timely proposal preparation and technical support.
- Coordinate with Liaisoning, Loan, Accounts, Registration, Warehouse, and Installation teams to ensure smooth project execution after order booking.
- Monitor pending cases related to loan approvals, registrations, documentation, subsidy processes, and project execution and support timely resolution.
- Ensure excellent customer experience from lead generation to project completion.
- Review customer complaints and coordinate with relevant departments for timely closure.
- Monitor CRM discipline and ensure all leads, customer interactions, and updates are recorded accurately.
- Analyze competitor activities, market trends, pricing, and customer requirements to improve branch performance.
- Identify local business opportunities, channel partners, referral networks, and market expansion opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to company SOPs, sales policies, and process compliance.
- Evaluate employee performance and recommend rewards, promotions, training, or performance improvement actions.
- Prepare branch sales reports, business reviews, and performance analysis for management.
Must-Have Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Commerce, or a related discipline. MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development, or Branch Sales Management, preferably in Solar EPC, Renewable Energy, Electrical, Construction, or Infrastructure industries.
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in team handling and sales leadership.
- Strong knowledge of solar products, subsidy schemes, financing options, and customer acquisition strategies.
- Strong leadership, coaching, negotiation, presentation, and customer relationship skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Excel, and MIS reporting.

Working Conditions & Compensation

Pay: Up to ₹70,000.00 per month
