- Take ownership of patient care across IPD/ICU/ER during shift
- Perform initial assessment and stabilize patients
- Ensure all treatment orders are written clearly and on time
- Drive execution of doctor’s plan through nursing coordination
- Act as first responder for any emergency on floor
- Keep consultants updated with real-time patient status
- Maintain complete, accurate, and medico-legal documentation
- Track critical patients closely and escalate without delay
- Ensure smooth flow from admission → treatment → discharge
- Be actively involved during rounds and follow through on actions
- Ensure reports, investigations, and medications are not delayed
- Support procedures and assist consultants when required
- Communicate key updates to patient relatives when needed
- Maintain discipline, quick response time, and floor control
- Ensure proper handover with zero information gap between shifts
