Job Summary:
The QC Field Associate is responsible for the on-site inspection and grading of pulses and grains (such as lentils, chickpeas, wheat, or rice). You will be the first line of defense in ensuring that only high-quality raw materials are procured and dispatched, minimizing wastage and ensuring food safety.
Key Responsibilities
Sampling: Collecting representative samples from heaps, bags, or truckloads using standard sampling tools (e.g., parkhi or probes).
Physical Analysis: Testing for moisture content using digital meters and checking for "Foreign Matter" (FM), damaged grains, weevilled grains, and shriveled seeds.
Grading: Classifying the produce based on color, size, and variety according to company or government (e.g., AGMARK) standards.
On-Field Documentation: Maintaining accurate logbooks and digital records of all inspections, including "Pass/Fail" reports for procurement teams.
Storage Monitoring: Inspecting warehouse conditions to ensure proper aeration and checking for signs of pest infestation or mold.
Vendor Coordination: Communicating quality deviations clearly to farmers, traders, or site managers.
