JOB ROLE: PURCHASE ENGINNER
LOCATION: Oragadam
EXPERIENCE: 4-5 YEARS (Purchase/Procurement in Manufacturing Industry)
QUALIFICATION: DME/DEGREE IN ENGINEERING
Preferred: Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering
DEPARTMENT: PURCHASE/PROCUREMENT
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and evaluate reliable suppliers and develop a strong vendor base.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices and negotiate with suppliers for best cost and quality.
- Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, components and services as per production plans.
- Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, service and cost.
- Coordinate with Stores, Production, Quality, Engineering and Accounts teams.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of purchase documentation and records.
- Track PO status, delivery schedules and resolve supply issues proactively.
- Support cost reduction initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Good knowledge of machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, tube bending, metal stamping and other manufacturing processes.
- Strong communication skills (verbal & written) with good proficiency in English.
- Ability to analyze supplier performance and take corrective actions to ensure quality, delivery, cost, and service requirements are met.
- Hands-on experience in quotation review, cost comparison, and commercial evaluation.
