Senior Analyst – Catastrophe Analytics
At Gallagher, we’re one of the world’s largest insurance brokers, with over 35,000 employees globally. Our Gallagher Service Centre (GSC) in India supports our global teams with high-quality analytics and risk management services.
We’re looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Catastrophe Analytics team in Mumbai. You’ll play a key role in helping insurers understand and manage risks from natural disasters.

Prepare and clean data for analysis using tools like SQL and Excel.

Analyse risk exposures by geocoding data, applying modelling assumptions, and setting up catastrophe models.

Use leading catastrophe models (RMS RiskLink, AIR Touchstone, CoreLogic RQE) and proprietary Gallagher models to estimate potential losses.

Generate detailed reports and visualisations using tools like iFM, WorkFlowManager, SpatialKey, and ArcGIS.

Conduct sensitivity analyses to understand how changes in inputs affect model outputs.

Collaborate with onshore analysts to ensure client satisfaction and meet project goals.

Support senior team members on complex projects and take the lead on simpler to medium-complexity renewals.

You’ve got 2–4 years of experience in catastrophe modelling or a related field.

You hold a degree in a quantitative field like Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Engineering.

You’re skilled in SQL, Excel (including VBA), and catastrophe modelling tools like RMS RiskLink and AIR Touchstone.

You’re familiar with insurance and reinsurance terms, treaty coding, and financial modelling.

You’re a quick learner who’s comfortable with new and evolving technologies.

How you'll make an impact
Responsibilities-
As a Senior Analyst in the Catastrophe Analytics team, you’ll play a vital role in helping insurers assess and manage risks. Your responsibilities will include:

Set up catastrophe models with correct parameters to quantify potential losses.

Use leading catastrophe models (RMS RiskLink, AIR Touchstone, CoreLogic RQE) and proprietary Gallagher models to estimate losses.

Conduct sensitivity analyses to understand how changes in inputs affect model outputs.

Run customised peril analyses using proprietary tools.

Generate exposure and loss summary reports using internal tools like iFM and WorkFlowManager.

Create maps and visualisations using tools like SpatialKey and ArcGIS to present key insights.

Answer natural catastrophe-related queries (SRQs) using internal tools and modelled losses.

Lead small to medium-complexity renewals independently, typically lasting 2–4 weeks.

Support senior team members on larger, more complex projects, which may span several months.

Coordinate with onshore lead analysts to discuss progress, seek feedback, and ensure client satisfaction.

Stay updated on evolving models, tools, and technologies.

Quickly learn new concepts and adapt to dynamic project requirements.

Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting timelines and multiple stakeholders.
