Job Summary:
The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily operations of the machine shop, including CNC machines, milling machines, lathe machines, and other mechanical equipment. The role ensures efficient production, proper machine maintenance, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of machinists and machine operators.
- Oversee operation of CNC machines, milling machines, lathe machines, drilling machines, and other workshop equipment.
- Ensure machines are operated safely and efficiently according to company procedures.
- Plan and schedule machining jobs to meet production deadlines.
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot mechanical problems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of machinery.
- Ensure quality control of machined parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Train and guide machine operators on proper machine handling and safety procedures.
- Maintain production reports, maintenance records, and work schedules.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, milling, and lathe operations.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and mechanical blueprints.
- Experience in machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Leadership and team supervision skills.
- Knowledge of workshop safety procedures.
- Basic understanding of measurement tools (vernier caliper, micrometer, gauges).
