Job Summary
The IP Billing Executive is responsible for preparing accurate inpatient bills, coordinating with clinical and support departments, processing insurance and cash billing, and ensuring timely discharge billing while complying with hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and verify inpatient (IP) bills accurately.
* Process cash, insurance, corporate, and TPA billing.
* Coordinate with nursing stations, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, and other departments to ensure all services are billed.
* Verify patient demographics, admission details, and billing charges.
* Process final bills during patient discharge and explain billing details to patients/attendants.
* Handle billing corrections, refunds, and adjustments with proper approvals.
* Ensure all billing documents are complete and properly maintained.
* Coordinate with insurance/TPA teams for pre-authorizations and claim documentation. * Resolve patient billing queries in a professional manner.
* Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with NABH and hospital policies.
* Prepare daily billing reports and reconcile collections.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Hospital Administration, or a related field.
* 1–3 years of experience in hospital IP billing (Freshers with relevant knowledge may also be considered).
* Knowledge of Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and MS Office.
* Understanding of insurance/TPA billing procedures is an added advantage.
