The System Administrator supports the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role manages Windows and macOS endpoints, user access, software and security updates, network connectivity, IT assets, and routine technical support.
Working closely with senior IT staff, the System Administrator resolves service requests, documents solutions, and escalates complex or critical issues when necessary.
- Maintain and troubleshoot workstations, laptops, servers, network devices, and related IT infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and update Windows and macOS operating systems, applications, security patches, and endpoint settings.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, access controls, authentication, and onboarding/offboarding activities.
- Troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and other connectivity issues.
- Support email and collaboration platforms, SaaS applications, endpoint security tools, firewalls, VoIP systems, and conference-room technology.
- Respond to service requests, provide timely updates, resolve routine issues, and escalate complex incidents appropriately.
- Maintain accurate IT asset, configuration, and infrastructure records.
- Assist with hardware and software procurement, vendor coordination, warranties, repairs, and replacements.
- Support backup verification, data recovery, disaster-recovery activities, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and troubleshooting procedures.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to IT operations.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and follow established IT, security, and compliance procedures.
- Working knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems and endpoint support.
- Strong hardware, software, endpoint, and network troubleshooting skills.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN, and Wi-Fi.
- Experience managing user accounts, permissions, access controls, and authentication.
- Experience supporting workstations, virtual servers, and network infrastructure.
- Familiarity with cloud email, collaboration platforms, and SaaS applications.
- Familiarity with endpoint security, antivirus tools, firewalls, patching, and basic security practices.
- Experience with IT asset management and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with VoIP, video-conferencing, audio-conferencing, and conference-room systems.
- Basic knowledge of backup, restoration, disaster recovery, and vulnerability remediation.
- Ability to support IT procurement, warranty coordination, and vendor management.
- Good communication, teamwork, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, prioritization, and ownership.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, work independently on routine tasks, and escalate issues appropriately.
