Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable Accountant to manage Apenir's day-to-day accounting operations, bookkeeping, GST compliance, payroll support, vendor payments, and financial record keeping. The ideal candidate will ensure statutory compliance, maintain accurate financial records, and work closely with the founders and the company's Chartered Accountant to support the organization's financial health.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and financial records.
- Record daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and maintain cash flow records.
- Prepare, verify, and file monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns.
- Ensure timely GST compliance and maintain complete GST documentation.
- Generate GST-compliant invoices and reconcile Input Tax Credit (ITC).
- Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
- Assist with budgeting, expense monitoring, and cash flow management.
- Process vendor payments and maintain vendor account records.
- Provide basic payroll support, including salary calculations and payroll documentation.
- Coordinate with the company's Chartered Accountant for GST, TDS, income tax, audits, ROC filings, and other statutory compliances.
- Organize and maintain financial records for audits and regulatory requirements.
- Assist management by preparing financial insights and reports to support business decisions.
- Recommend improvements to financial processes and internal controls as the company grows.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and GST compliance.
- Fresh graduates with strong accounting knowledge and internship experience are encouraged to apply.
- Good understanding of Indian accounting standards and GST regulations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with accounting software such as Tally Prime, Zoho Books, Busy, or QuickBooks.
- Knowledge of TDS, payroll processing, and statutory compliance.
- Experience working with startups or service-based businesses is an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
