Costing Executive – Garment Buying

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Costing Executive with hands-on experience in garment buying, apparel costing, and buyer-related processes.
The ideal candidate should understand garment costing from fabric and trims through production-related expenses and be able to prepare accurate cost sheets and quotations based on buyer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate garment costing sheets based on buyer requirements.
- Calculate fabric, trims, accessories, washing, printing, embroidery and other production costs.
- Prepare and submit buyer quotations within required timelines.
- Coordinate with merchandising, production, purchase and sourcing teams to collect costing inputs.
- Review fabric and trim consumption and identify cost variations.
- Analyse production and overhead costs to arrive at competitive selling prices.
- Understand buyer specifications, product requirements and costing expectations.
- Support the merchandising/buying team during price negotiations.
- Revise costings based on changes in fabric, trims, specifications, quantities or buyer requirements.
- Maintain costing records and ensure accuracy of commercial information.
- Track market and supplier pricing to support competitive quotations.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams for updated material and production rates.
- Ensure timely completion of costing and quotation activities.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- B.Com / M.Com or equivalent qualification.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in garment costing / apparel buying / buying house / garment merchandising.
- Practical knowledge of garment costing and buyer quotation preparation.
- Understanding of fabrics, trims, accessories and garment manufacturing processes.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and costing worksheets.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work with deadlines and manage multiple costing requirements.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in:
- Garment buying houses
- Apparel export companies
- Garment manufacturing companies
- Buyer coordination
- Apparel merchandising
- Garment costing and price negotiation
will be preferred.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have direct garment industry experience, particularly in costing and buyer-related activities. Candidates without relevant garment/apparel experience may not be suitable for this position.
Compensation
₹30,000 – ₹45,000 per month, depending on relevant experience and skills.
