About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and creative Page Designer to join our newspaper production team. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in newspaper page layout, graphics handling and page designing using QuarkXPress. The candidate will be responsible for designing visually appealing newspaper pages while maintaining editorial standards and meeting strict publication deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and layout newspaper pages using QuarkXPress.
- Create and integrate graphics, infographics, charts as per editorial requirements.
- Ensure proper page hierarchy, typography, spacing, and visual balance.
- Coordinate with editorial, reporting, and production teams for page planning and execution.
- Maintain consistency in newspaper design templates and branding guidelines.
- Ensure error-free pages and timely closure of editions within deadlines.
- Contribute creative ideas to enhance reader engagement and visual appeal.
Eligibility Criteria
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum Graduate in any discipline.
- Excellent command over QuarkXPress.
- Strong Hindi typing skills.
- Thorough understanding of newspaper layouts, pagination, and print production.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and shift operations.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Candidates with experience in newspaper publishing houses will be preferred.
- Hands-on experience in graphics creation, page layout design and visual storytelling.
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and other design tools will be an added advantage.
Critical Selection Criteria
The right candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in newspaper page designing and graphics creation using QuarkXPress.
Preference will be given to candidates who have independently designed newspaper pages, handled editorial graphics, infographics, and worked in a fast-paced daily newspaper production environment. QuarkXPress-based graphics and layout experience is a mandatory requirement for this role.
