As a Research Associate in the project, you will work with Industrial Training Institutes. The project involves working with ITI Curriculum, Industry Linkages and Program Implementation.
This is a 1‑year position with a possibility of confirmation based upon review.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyse ITI curricula and training modules, with a focus on alignment with industry requirements.
- Conduct field visits to ITIs and manufacturing units to document training practices, infrastructure, and shop-floor processes.
- Engage with instructors, administrators, students, and factory personnel to collect qualitative and quantitative data.
- Support program management activities which includes scheduling fieldwork and coordination with ITIs and Department.
- Maintain detailed field notes, datasets, and research documentation.
- Assist in drafting reports, briefs, and internal notes based on field findings.
- Independently manage assigned tasks and field activities with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- BE/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong research skills, including the ability to collect, organise, and analyse field-based data.
- Proactively and independently engage with ITIs and manufacturing units to arrange field interactions, conduct primary research, and develop a grounded understanding of training practices and shop-floor realities.
- Openness to frequent travel and on-site work at ITIs and factories.
- Good written communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders across education and industry settings.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Frequent travel to ITIs and factories across Karnataka.
