Amelia Coal Mine is located in the Main basin of Singrauli Coalfield, Singrauli District of Madhya Pradesh (~37 km from Singrauli City). The block has been allotted to THDC India Limited, a Mini Ratna Public Sector Undertaking (Joint Venture of NTPC Limited and Government of Uttar Pradesh). THDC has appointed Amelia Coal Mining Limited as their MDO. In FY2023, ACML has begun Overburden Removal and Coal Production. State of Art Technology utilized in Amelia Coal Mine is combination of shovels and dumpers and Surface Miners. Amelia Coal Mine is currently in the ramp-up phase with Peak Rated Capacity (PRC) of 5.6 Million Tonnes Per Annum. Scope of the MDO includes Access to Site, Finance, deploy HEMM, Operate and Maintain Mine, excavate and deliver coal; Construction and Maintain of Coal Handling Plant (CHP), infrastructure including Conveyor (Mine to Railway Siding), Railway Siding, Approach and Access Roads; Arrange Power Supply, Undertake Land Acquisition, R&R, obtain possession of land, procure and renew EC, FC, licenses, permits, etc
Electrical Infrastructure Management:
Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of Ring Main Lines (RML), substations, HT/LT panels, transformers, switchgear, and protection systems.
- Oversee installation, shifting, jointing, and maintenance of HT/LT cables, trailing cables, and cable routes for Shovels and Drills.
- Supervise maintenance and testing of earthling systems, lightning protection, and relay protection schemes.
Power Supply & Equipment Support:
Ensure uninterrupted power supply to Electric Rope Shovels, Hydraulic Shovels, Drills, and other electrically driven mining equipment.
- Manage DG sets, Mobile Lighting Towers (MLTs), and temporary power arrangements at shifting mining faces.
- Coordinate load management and power distribution in line with operational requirements.
Mine Illumination & Communication Systems:
- Maintain and monitor mine illumination systems, including MLTs, high mast lighting, and fixed lighting infrastructure.
- Ensure operational reliability of mine communication systems (VHF sets, wireless networks, CCTV, signaling systems, etc.).
- Support integration of communication systems for safety and production coordination
Safety & Statutory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with CEA regulations, Mines Act, DGMS guidelines, and other statutory electrical safety norms.
- Conduct electrical safety inspections, audits, and preventive checks.
- Implement permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and safe isolation procedures.
- Investigate electrical faults, incidents, and near misses and implement corrective actions.
Planning & Execution :
- Prepare and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for electrical infrastructure.
- Plan shifting of substations, cables, and power systems in line with mine advancement.
- Ensure availability of critical electrical spares and consumables.
- Monitor downtime, reliability parameters, and power-related KPIs
