Global Development Services
Overview
The Data Manager will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the data management function of Global Development Services, spanning Cost Management, Project Controls, Development Management, and Development Advisory. This position is focused on the development, maintenance, and enhancement of data-driven initiatives and tools to elevate operational excellence and business performance across the organisation. The Data Manager will be responsible for ensuring data integrity, governance, and availability, underpinning the effective use of analytics and AI solutions throughout the business.
Requirements
Data Expertise: Demonstrated experience in structuring, transforming, analysing, and approving complex project data for use in business intelligence and AI applications.
Technical Involvement: In-depth involvement with data management aspects of cost management, project controls, development management, and advisory functions, ensuring data quality and compliance for all outputs.
Cost Management
Oversee data collection, cleaning, approval, and integration processes to support the development of robust project cost databases and reporting systems.
Direct data lifecycle management initiatives, including the integration of forecasting, benchmarking, and variance tracking data to ensure accurate project budgeting and reporting.
Manage global data controls for unit measurement, procurement, contracts, and change management to reduce risk and ensure compliance with data governance standards.
Deploy best practice data management procedures across Cost Management teams.
Project Controls
Project Scheduling & Automation: Oversee data validation, approval, and integration processes to enable the development of data-driven project schedule generators.
Risk Management: Implement advanced risk assessment models, including data-powered simulations, to predict and mitigate project risks proactively.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a history of driving organisational buy-in for improved data practices.
Process Optimisation: Skilled in process standardisation and optimisation, including eliminating inefficiencies and duplications in data processes.
Continuous Improvement: Commitment to continuous improvement and best practice in data management and project environments.
Key Responsibilities
Standardisation of Data Practices: Apply data management best practices to harmonise procedures and knowledge transfer across service lines, driving consistent and efficient operations.
Data Optimisation: Identify and structure critical project and technical data for service delivery, leveraging analytics to enhance workflow precision and decision-making.
Process Automation: Implement data management tools to automate documentation, reporting, and quality assurance within service lines.
Deploy data-driven project tools customised for technical teams to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Predictive Data Assessment: Utilise data analytics to anticipate project risks and opportunities, supporting proactive mitigation and strategic planning within service delivery.
Auditing: Streamline internal audits by automating data compliance checks and technical assessments using intelligent systems.
Continuous Data Improvement: Use data insights to identify inefficiencies, enabling agile adjustment and the adoption of innovative work methods.

Educational Qualification & Experience
B. Tech in Civil Engineering or similar is required
Experience in QS / Cost Management of Global construction projects
