Business Finance Manager (Part-Time Contract – 6 Months)Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Finance Manager to work closely with our Director, internal team, and external accountant to strengthen financial reporting, improve business performance visibility, and provide strategic financial guidance. This is a six-month contract focused on establishing meaningful reporting frameworks, financial metrics, and operational insights that support informed business decisions.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting
- Prepare quarterly financial performance reports.
- Prepare annual financial reports for management.
- Analyse business performance and financial trends.
- Present clear financial insights and recommendations.
Business Performance Analysis
- Develop meaningful KPIs for a construction engineering consultancy.
- Establish financial and operational performance metrics.
- Compare performance quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year.
- Monitor profitability and project performance.
Strategic Financial Advisory
- Provide financial advice to support business growth.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability.
- Recommend strategies to improve operational efficiency.
- Assist with financial planning and forecasting.
Operational Cost Management
- Conduct monthly operating expense reviews.
- Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs.
- Analyse overhead expenditure and efficiency.
- Recommend cost-saving initiatives.
Systems & Collaboration
- Work closely with the external accountant.
- Collaborate with internal staff to improve reporting processes.
- Utilise Xero and SCORO to produce meaningful financial information.
- Assist in improving finance-related workflows and reporting systems.
Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Strong commercial finance and business advisory experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Xero.
- Experience with SCORO or similar ERP/PSA systems is advantageous.
- Strong financial modelling and reporting capabilities.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working with engineering, construction, or professional services firms is highly desirable.

- Ability to translate financial data into practical business recommendations.

Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Commercial Finance Manager, or Financial Controller.
- Experience advising small to medium-sized businesses.
- Strong understanding of project-based financial reporting.
- Able to develop meaningful KPIs and performance dashboards.
- Comfortable working closely with leadership teams and external accountants.
- Commercially minded with a proactive approach to improving business performance.
- Capable of identifying opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Confident providing strategic financial advice to support business growth.
SkillsAccountingFinanceMust haveAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
