About the Role
We are an asset management firm seeking a Financial Trading Platform Developer to support and evolve our internal trading and investment technology platforms. This role focuses on developing systems that enable portfolio managers, traders, and operations teams to efficiently manage order execution, market data, and investment workflows across multiple asset classes.
The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering skills with a clear understanding of trading processes in an institutional asset management environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain trading platforms supporting front-office and middle-office functions
- Enhance and support Order Management Systems (OMS) and integrations with Execution Management Systems (EMS) and brokers
- Build integrations with exchanges, market data vendors, custodians, and prime brokers
- Support full order lifecycle management (creation, validation, execution, allocation, post-trade)
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, operations, compliance, and risk teams
- Ensure system reliability, auditability, and regulatory compliance
- Optimize performance and scalability of trading/data systems
- Troubleshoot production issues and support live trading environments
- Contribute to architecture design, documentation, and code reviews
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of software development experience (preferably in financial services)
- Strong proficiency in Java, C#, Python, or C++
- Experience with trading systems / OMS / EMS / investment platforms
- Solid understanding of trading workflows and order lifecycle
- Experience with FIX protocol or similar APIs
- Strong SQL and relational database experience
- Ability to work directly with business users (traders, PMs, ops)
- High attention to detail, data quality, and risk control
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in asset management / buy-side firms
- Exposure to multi-asset trading (equities, fixed income, ETFs, derivatives)
- Knowledge of regulatory/compliance environments
- Cloud experience (AWS / Azure / GCP)
- Familiarity with market data platforms (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE)
- Experience with event-driven / messaging architectures
