The Fleet Assistant Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and availability of the 108 ambulance fleet. The role involves monitoring 4-wheeler vehicles, coordinating with workshops, managing drivers and fleet staff, maintaining vehicle documentation, and ensuring maximum fleet uptime for uninterrupted emergency services.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the daily operation and availability of all 4-wheeler ambulance vehicles.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed for all vehicles.
- Coordinate with authorized workshops for servicing, repairs, and breakdown maintenance.
- Follow up with workshops to ensure timely completion of repair work and vehicle delivery.
- Monitor vehicle health, fuel efficiency, mileage, tyre condition, battery performance, and overall maintenance.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety.
- Maintain records of vehicle service history, insurance, registration, permits, PUC, fitness certificates, and other statutory documents.
- Track vehicle downtime and take corrective action to improve fleet availability.
- Handle manpower related to fleet operations, including drivers and fleet supervisors.
- Prepare duty rosters and coordinate manpower deployment to ensure uninterrupted ambulance services.
- Monitor driver discipline, attendance, performance, and compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate with district operations teams for vehicle allocation and operational support.
- Liaise with spare parts vendors and service providers to ensure timely availability of parts and services.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports related to fleet performance, maintenance, and vehicle utilization.
- Assist in accident reporting, vehicle recovery, insurance claims, and root cause analysis.
- Ensure compliance with organizational SOPs , safety standards, and government regulations.
- Support emergency fleet requirements and ensure maximum ambulance uptime.
- Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or any relevant discipline.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of 4-wheeler vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Strong workshop coordination and follow-up skills.
- Experience in fleet monitoring and vehicle utilization.
- Manpower handling and team management.
- Vendor and workshop management.
- 3–5 years of experience in fleet management, automobile operations, logistics, transport, or ambulance services.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
