*Job Description: Executive – Air Pricing*
*Location:* Sahakar Nagar, Bangalore
*Department:* Pricing / Freight Forwarding
*Reports to:* Manager – Pricing / Branch Head
### *Role Overview*
The Executive – Air Pricing will be responsible for securing competitive air freight rates, supporting the sales and operations teams with timely pricing, and maintaining rate accuracy in the system. You will act as the key link between carriers, overseas agents, and internal teams to drive profitable business growth.
### *Key Responsibilities*
*Pricing & Rate Management*
- Gather and evaluate quotes from airlines, GSAs, and co-loaders to negotiate competitive air freight rates.
- Maintain and update a centralized database of air freight tariffs for worldwide destinations.
- Upload and manage rates on the technology-backed tariff management and shipment booking portal.
- Ensure rate validity, market benchmarking, and timely revision of tariffs.
*Vendor & Carrier Management*
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with airlines, overseas counterparts, and agents.
- Liaise with airlines, customs brokers, and transport vendors to source best pricing and space availability.
- Coordinate with overseas agents for door-to-door pricing and routing solutions.
*Business Support*
- Provide pricing support to the sales and customer service teams for new and existing client inquiries.
- Guide the customer service team on pricing-related queries and ensure quick TAT.
- Work out best-in-class freight solutions to help the sales team close business.
- Follow up on spot quotes and tender bids to maximize conversion.
*Operations Coordination*
- Coordinate with operations for smooth execution of air cargo movement once business is secured.
- Ensure pricing is fed into the system accurately to avoid revenue leakage.
- Monitor market trends, fuel surcharges, and peak season surcharges to update stakeholders.
### *Key Skills & Competencies*
- Strong negotiation skills with airlines and vendors.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in rate preparation.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple quotes in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external coordination.
- Proficient in MS Excel and freight forwarding software/ERP systems.
- Team player with ability to work cross-functionally with sales, ops, and finance.
*Qualifications & Experience*
- Graduate in any discipline. Degree/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or IATA certification is a plus.
- 1-4 years of experience in air freight pricing with a freight forwarder or airline.
- Sound knowledge of INCOTERMS, air freight processes, and international trade lanes.
